Dance Teacher

About the role

A values-based dance studio is looking for a dance teacher to join its team and help students of all ages develop a love of dance. The teacher will instruct students in a variety of dance forms in a fun, engaging and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate, engaging dance lessons aligned with the studio's values, covering students from 18 months to adults
• Create choreography for dance routines that fits the studio's commitment to age-appropriate content
• Give each student personalised attention and support their confidence and self-esteem through positive reinforcement
• Prioritise safety in instruction, including costume selection, choreography and music choice
• Maintain an inclusive, welcoming environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
• Build a warm, supportive dance community and engage with students and their families beyond the class
• Uphold the studio's values of professionalism and commit to ongoing professional development in dance instruction

Required profile

• Valid WWCC
• Experience as a dance instructor with expertise in various dance styles is an asset
• Strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate teaching methods
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
