Cyber Security Specialist – Microsoft Purview

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security Specialist with deep expertise in Microsoft Purview to join our technology team in Perth. You will lead the design, implementation and governance of Purview solutions, helping the organisation strengthen data protection, compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and support Microsoft Purview across the enterprise.
• Configure and manage Data Loss Prevention, Information Protection & Sensitivity Labels, Data Lifecycle Management, eDiscovery, Insider Risk Management and Data Governance capabilities.
• Develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies and compliance controls.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and cloud teams to improve the overall data security posture.
• Provide technical guidance, best‑practice recommendations and support audits and regulatory reviews.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Purview‑related issues in Microsoft 365 environments.
• Contribute to platform improvements and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience with Microsoft Purview.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security and compliance technologies.
• Experience implementing DLP, retention, classification and data governance policies.
• Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks.
• Background working in enterprise or complex environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within technical teams.
