Cyber Security Operations Specialist – Defence Systems

About the role

Northrop Grumman Australia is expanding its Triton team and seeks a Cyber Security Operations Specialist to protect a high‑altitude unmanned aircraft system. Based at RAAF Edinburgh, you will work hands‑on with complex, multi‑location defence platforms, identifying vulnerabilities, investigating incidents and continuously improving security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end vulnerability lifecycle: scanning, tracking exposures and reporting outcomes.
• Investigate security events and incidents across diverse Windows and Linux environments.
• Analyse logs where visibility is fragmented and support continuous monitoring.
• Collaborate with engineering and system‑administration teams to implement practical security enhancements.
• Contribute to the maturation of processes in a developing cyber environment.

Required profile

• Australian citizenship with NV1 security clearance.
• Approximately 3+ years of experience in cyber operations, SOC, systems or network security.
• Hands‑on, practical approach to problem solving and system investigation.
• Clear communicator able to explain risks and issues to technical and non‑technical audiences.
