Cyber Security Manager

About the role

Lead the day‑to‑day cyber defence capability across Compare the Market and iSelect, protecting business services, customer information and employees. Reporting to the Head of Information Security, you will translate security strategy into practical controls and operational improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Lead security monitoring, alert triage, investigations and response activities, continuously improving detection coverage, telemetry, playbooks and processes.
• Coordinate investigation, containment and recovery of security incidents, working with internal teams and external specialists.
• Drive vulnerability management and penetration‑test remediation, prioritising risk and tracking actions through ADO.
• Oversee endpoint, cloud, identity, access, email security and DLP controls, partnering with platform owners.
• Deliver security roadmap initiatives, defining scope, dependencies, owners and success measures.
• Produce security reporting on detection performance, incident response, vulnerabilities and control effectiveness.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading cyber defence operations and coordinating security incidents in complex environments.
• Strong ability to balance operational priorities, security initiatives and stakeholder demands.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and coaching skills.
• Relevant qualifications or equivalent practical experience in cyber security, security operations or cyber defence.

Required skills

• Security monitoring, endpoint and cloud security.
• Identity and access management, data loss prevention.
• Experience with AWS, Netskope, Cloudflare Zero Trust.
• Familiarity with ADO work‑tracking platforms and security automation tools.
• Detection engineering, threat hunting.
