Cyber Security Engineer – Vulnerability Management

About the role

Join the global Cyber Defense Centre at Linde Material Handling, part of the KION Group, as a Cyber Security Engineer focused on vulnerability management. Based in Huntingwood, NSW, you will work in a hybrid model (2 days onsite, 3 days remote) to protect enterprise assets across infrastructure, applications, APIs and cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute internal penetration testing for infrastructure, web applications, APIs and cloud platforms, delivering actionable findings and remediation guidance.
• Lead enterprise vulnerability assessments, providing risk‑based analysis to prioritize remediation across systems, applications and cloud services.
• Architect, operate and continuously improve the vulnerability management platform and scanning infrastructure, ensuring scalability and integration with other security tools.
• Design and implement automation strategies to streamline detection, assessment and remediation workflows.
• Develop and maintain security tooling, scripts and platform integrations, including AI‑driven vulnerability detection and risk prioritisation.
• Contribute to the evolution of vulnerability management processes, policies and standards, and participate in global Cyber Security team calls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in cybersecurity, specifically vulnerability management, penetration testing and security automation.
• Strong offensive security skills covering web, API and infrastructure testing.
• Proficiency in scripting languages for automation (Python, Bash, JavaScript) and experience integrating security tools via APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI‑driven vulnerability tools; relevant certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN or GWAPT are desirable.
