Cyber Security Engineer

About the role

Centorrino Technologies is seeking a proactive Cyber Security Engineer to protect its information systems and data across project environments in Australia. You will embed security practices throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with government standards and industry best‑practice.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enforce security policies and procedures aligned with PSPF, ISM and other government guidelines.
• Monitor, assess and remediate vulnerabilities in systems and applications.
• Configure and manage security tools such as firewalls, IDS and anti‑malware solutions.
• Create and maintain documentation for security protocols, incident response plans and compliance guidelines.
• Lead incident response activities, including containment, eradication and recovery.
• Conduct cyber risk assessments and continuously improve security services.
• Maintain service level agreements and align security operations with organisational goals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or a related discipline.
• Active NV1 Security Clearance.
• Experience in a client‑facing, project‑based or managed services environment.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Linux and Windows Server administration
• Virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V)
• Scripting with PowerShell and Bash
• Azure Networking
• Aruba, FortiNet and Juniper hardware
• Knowledge of Essential Eight, ISO 27001 and NIST frameworks
