Cyber Security Consultant – Canberra

About the role

SYPAQ is seeking a Cyber Security Consultant to join its consulting team in Canberra. The role supports government and defence projects by providing cyber security expertise, policy development and governance guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cyber security documentation and policies.
• Implement governance, risk and compliance (GRC) frameworks, including the Essential Eight and the Information Security Manual.
• Collaborate with government and industry stakeholders to define security requirements.
• Support verification, validation, certification and accreditation activities for capability projects.
• Provide advice throughout the Defence Capability Lifecycle and assist with cyber aspects of engineering systems.
• Travel to client sites as required.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with at least NV1 security clearance.
• Approximately four years of experience in ICT/engineering environments.
• Bachelor of Engineering (Systems, Electronics & Communications, Aerospace, Mechatronics or Software).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn cyber security within a defence context.
