Customer Service Officer - Memorial Parks

About the role

The Metropolitan Cemeteries Board (MCB) is recruiting for one permanent full-time Customer Service Officer position at Fremantle and Rockingham Regional Memorial Park. The role sits within the MCB's Customer Services team, which supports families across its seven cemeteries and memorial parks in Greater Perth. It is described as more than a customer service job: it involves helping families with enquiries, coordinating memorialisation requests, processing grants and applications, preparing ashes for collection and supporting family-attended services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and efficient customer service by telephone, email and at the front counter.
• Help families with information on cemetery services, grants, memorialisation and related enquiries.
• Process customer requests, applications, invoices and service transactions, keeping accurate records and customer information in business systems and databases.
• Prepare and manage ashes for collection, transfer, memorialisation and storage.
• Bear witness to family-attended services and work with teams across multiple cemetery locations.

• Experience delivering high-quality customer service in a busy environment, communicating sensitively and professionally.
• A caring and compassionate approach when supporting people from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
