Customer Service Officer

About the role

The Department of Housing and Works delivers and maintains social housing and critical infrastructure across Western Australia, including schools, hospitals and police facilities, and manages tenancy services, remote Aboriginal community housing and government employee accommodation. It is recruiting a Customer Service Officer to act as the first point of contact for customers, handling enquiries professionally, efficiently and with empathy.

Key responsibilities

• Assist customers through a variety of channels and provide accurate information and advice
• Process applications and requests
• Maintain detailed records
• Contribute to positive customer outcomes within a collaborative team

Required profile

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive and professional attitude
• Organised, adaptable and resilient, able to build rapport with diverse people and manage competing priorities
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn, embrace change and contribute to a collaborative workplace
• Experience with diverse customer groups, confidentiality and computer-based systems is highly regarded
