Customer Service / Dispatch Officer

About the role

A client supplying civil construction and infrastructure products (drainage, geosynthetics, erosion control and road safety solutions) is looking for an experienced Customer Service / Dispatch Officer for its busy operations team in Torrington, near Toowoomba. The role combines customer service, dispatch coordination, inventory management and sales administration, in a Monday to Friday roster from 7:00am to 3:00pm. It is advertised as casual at $44.28 per hour plus penalties, with a temp-to-perm opportunity.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate inbound and outbound transport deliveries and liaise with customers to confirm delivery dates and times
• Maintain daily transport schedules and delivery records
• Manage freight cost and charge tracking spreadsheets
• Receive and process inbound stock deliveries, conduct regular stock counts and inventory checks
• Prepare quotes, process sales orders and coordinate deliveries
• Source and purchase non-stock items as required
• Assist with counter sales and walk-in enquiries, and respond to phone and email enquiries
• Support warehouse housekeeping and stock presentation

Required profile

• Previous experience in customer service, dispatch or logistics coordination
• Experience in a trade, industrial, transport or blue-collar environment
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport; must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
