Customer Field Technician I – South Coast

About the role

nbn is recruiting Customer Field Technicians for its internal workforce in the NSW South Coast area, around Ulladulla, Batemans Bay, Narooma, Bega and Eden. This is a permanent, full-time, hands-on, customer-focused role where you work independently to install, repair and maintain nbn services in homes and businesses. Previous experience in telecommunications is not needed, and apprentices are welcome.

Key responsibilities

• Complete a variety of tasks across different nbn technologies, including installations, repairs and maintenance.
• Install copper or fibre cabling and set up customer equipment.
• Identify and fix faults and support customers in their homes or businesses.
• Follow safe work practices and nbn's safety procedures at all times.

Required profile

• Background in a trade, hands-on technical job or customer-facing role, such as plumbing, carpentry, electrical work, labouring, construction, mechanical work, hospitality or manufacturing (highly valued).
• Enjoys hands-on problem-solving and communicating with customers.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own workload.
• Strong commitment to safety and clear communication skills.
• Current, clean driver's licence.
• Full working rights in Australia; a criminal history check and pre-employment medical assessment are required.
