Customer Banking Specialist - Mackay Branch (Contract)

About the role

The Retail Banking Services (RBS) team at CommBank serves more than 10 million personal and small business customers across Australia. As the Customer Banking Specialist at the Mackay branch (Caneland Shopping Centre), you will be the public face of the bank and the first point of contact for customers. This is a part-time contract position running until December 2027, with 22 hours per week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm. Rosters are predetermined, so availability must be confirmed before applying.

Key responsibilities

• Greet each customer and clearly understand their enquiry, guiding them to the appropriate channel
• Build a personal connection with customers through meaningful conversation to enhance their experience
• Offer options by educating and demonstrating in-branch technology and digital banking options
• Stay aware of branch movements so it runs effectively and efficiently and customers are satisfied

Required profile

• A proven track record of excellent customer service, ideally in financial services, retail or hospitality
• Excellent communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanour
• Ability to manage customer expectations
