Customer Banking Specialist - Alice Springs

About the role

The Retail Bank is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience to its 10 million+ personal and small business customers. This Customer Banking Specialist position is based at the Alice Springs branch on a full-time basis, working alongside the Branch Manager and colleagues to deliver outstanding outcomes for every customer. Rosters are predetermined: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm.

Key responsibilities

• Build a personal connection with customers through meaningful conversations.
• Help customers use in-branch technology and digital banking options.
• Respond to customers' transactional needs in the branch so they leave satisfied.
• Complete Financial Health Checks to assess customers' financial needs and identify changes.
• Interview customers and process applications for personal loans, credit cards and associated products.
• Proactively call customers to build rapport and invite them to a Financial Health Check or an appointment with a specialist.
• Follow bank processes, including accurate transaction reconciliation and review of customers' financial positions.
• Take part in community events and fundraising activities, and look after the safety and wellbeing of the team.
• Use tools to capture customer feedback and take action to fix service gaps.

Required profile

• Ability to ask the right questions, act with integrity and put the customer at the centre of everything.
• Passion for service excellence, able to work independently while referring customers to other specialists for complex needs.
• Able to work in a busy, commercial and driven retail environment and provide holistic solutions.
• Genuine passion for the customer and for doing the right thing.
