Credit Risk Associate - Financial Institutions

About the role

The Financial Institutions Credit team, part of Macquarie's Risk Management Group, assesses, approves, monitors and reports credit risk with bank, fund, broker, insurance and clearinghouse counterparties. This entry-level, permanent full-time position covers various trading and fund lending businesses and sits in Sydney, Australia. The team works closely with Commodities and Global Markets, Fixed Income & Currencies.

Key responsibilities

• Cover various trading and fund lending businesses
• Rating counterparties and proposing credit appetite to senior approvers
• Ongoing monitoring of counterparties and exposure against credit limits
• Manage relationships with the Fixed Income & Currencies Division

Required profile

• Background in finance and interest in working in the risk department of a global financial institution
• Experience in financial institutions credit analysis at a bank or similar role is a strong advantage
• Ability to solve complex problems, analyse complex structures and present recommendations to senior management
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration and attention to detail

Required skills

• Knowledge of banks, derivatives, capital markets or fund lending
• Interest in trading documentation and credit mitigants such as ISDA/CSA and Master Repurchase Agreements
