Cost Controller

About the role

CPB Contractors is seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join its Defence sector project in regional Western Australia. You will be responsible for analysing cost variances, supporting earned value analysis and ensuring accurate financial reporting for large‑scale construction works.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts and variance analyses in collaboration with budget holders and project teams.
• Reconcile weekly wage and plant costs to JDE cost codes and align them with Rover hours and CDRs.
• Establish and maintain contract rates in Rover for all resource classes, matching contract rate tables and site rosters.
• Partner with Project Engineers, Accounts and Area Managers to resolve discrepancies and support budgeting.
• Monitor costs, participate in project reviews and continuously improve cost‑control processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Cost Controller on large‑scale construction projects.
• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
• Strong mathematical ability and exceptional attention to detail.
• Knowledge of cost management principles, estimating and budgeting processes.
• Excellent analytical, financial forecasting and reporting skills.
