Cost Controller – Commercial Construction Projects

About the role

We are seeking a Cost Controller to join A W Edwards, a leading Australian builder, to support major commercial construction projects across Sydney. The role focuses on delivering value by managing project finances, mitigating risks and identifying cost optimisation opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the performance of project financial functions, ensuring accurate cost reporting and forecasting.
• Provide cost control expertise to project teams, including risk control, financial operations and compliance with legal and procedural standards.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks while optimising cost‑saving opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with internal experts and external stakeholders to maintain stringent control of design and construction budgets.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in cost control or project finance within the construction industry.
• Strong analytical ability to forecast costs and assess financial risks.
• Knowledge of construction processes and the ability to work closely with multidisciplinary project teams.
