Coordinator Asset Engineering

About the role

The Coordinator Asset Engineering will work with the Facilities Asset Engineering team and a range of internal and external stakeholders to proactively identify poorly performing sewage treatment and pump station assets, mitigating high‑risk failures and supporting continuous improvement of city infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and prioritise under‑performing assets for maintenance or renewal.
• Optimise maintenance scope and determine renewal or improvement opportunities.
• Advise on the scope and frequency of condition assessments.
• Provide engineering support as the asset owner, including safety auditing and quality assurance.
• Develop and manage scopes for condition assessments, minor renewals, repairs, de‑commissioning and preventative maintenance.
• Lead projects, control budgets, produce financial and quality reports, and manage contract performance.
• Communicate outcomes to a broad range of stakeholders and use project‑management and work‑allocation systems effectively.

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Engineering.
• Significant experience with sewage treatment plants and pump stations.
• Unrestricted C class driver licence (preferred General Construction Induction Card).
• Extensive experience leading an engineering or technical team.
• Constructive, compassionate leadership style and strong advocacy for asset‑management governance.
• Ability to drive business improvements and promote a supportive, wellbeing‑focused team environment.
