Cook – Luxury Hotel Kitchen

About the role

Join the culinary team at Sofitel Brisbane Central, a 5‑star luxury hotel in the heart of Brisbane. As a Cook you will help deliver high‑quality dishes and exceptional dining experiences for guests.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of hot and cold dishes following recipes and quality standards.
• Maintain food safety, sanitation and HACCP compliance in all preparation areas.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and meet guest expectations.
• Assist with menu planning, new dish development and inventory management.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment and keep the work area clean and organised.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience in a luxury/5‑star environment.
• Flexibility to work across shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure kitchen.
• Basic English proficiency and good verbal communication.

Required skills

• HACCP knowledge and current Food Handlers certificate.
• Excellent knife skills and ability to operate standard kitchen equipment.
• Proficiency in preparing a wide range of cuisines and dietary options.
• Menu planning and inventory management.
• Basic computer skills for kitchen management systems.
