Controls Testing Specialist

About the role

The Control Uplift & Testing Team within ANZ's Non‑Financial Risk business is looking for a Controls Testing Specialist. You will join a first‑line risk team responsible for independent, evidence‑based assessments of business controls across the Retail and Commercial divisions. Reporting to the Control Testing Team Lead, you will manage the end‑to‑end testing lifecycle to ensure compliance with the NFR Framework.

Key responsibilities

• Execute control design and operating effectiveness testing for manual, IT‑dependent manual, automated, and bot‑enabled controls.
• Manage the testing schedule and ensure timely completion of testing plans.
• Identify control uplift, rationalisation, and improvement opportunities.
• Escalate issues promptly and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Support continuous monitoring verification (CMV) processes.
• Build strong, influential relationships with key business partners.

Required profile

• Experience in control testing or risk assessment within a financial services environment.
• Understanding of the NFR Framework and its application to control testing.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple testing activities.
