Controls Manager – IPP Power Solutions

About the role

We are looking for a visionary Controls Manager to lead the design and delivery of industrial control systems on our Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects. Reporting to the project delivery team, you will coordinate vendors, contractors and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and successful commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee delivery and integration of industrial control systems within complex power‑station projects.
• Lead technical design, PLC/SCADA implementation, system architecture validation, testing and commissioning.
• Prepare control‑system scopes of work aligned with project requirements.
• Review and approve control‑system designs, configurations and documentation.
• Coordinate with project delivery teams, engineering disciplines, equipment vendors and controls contractors to meet schedules and technical objectives.
• Provide technical leadership across control‑system design and implementation.
• Support evaluation and selection of control‑system contractors and manage day‑to‑day interactions.
• Ensure quality, compliance, documentation and system performance during commissioning.
• Identify and mitigate project risks related to control systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Controls Systems Engineering.
• 5–10 years of deep industrial controls experience, including PLCs and SACAD platforms.
• Strong commercial experience in vendor selection and relationship management from tender through commissioning.
• Understanding of power‑station and power‑generation operations.
