Control Room Operator – Airport Automation

About the role

Vanderlande is seeking a Control Room Operator to join its APAC Services team in the Greater Western Sydney area. The role involves monitoring and coordinating high‑end automation systems at Western Sydney Airport, acting as the first point of contact between Vanderlande and the customer’s control room.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor the airport’s material handling systems in real time and communicate all events to maintenance and operations teams.
• Coordinate shift activities with the customer’s operations team, Vanderlande’s remote support desks and on‑site maintenance personnel.
• Escalate incidents and provide clear, professional updates to the Shift Leader and Maintenance Team Leader.
• Assist in troubleshooting and problem‑solving on Vanderlande platforms during the shift.
• Maintain accurate records in customer reporting systems.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills and ability to convey technical information clearly.
• Problem‑solving aptitude for troubleshooting automation equipment.
• Team coordination experience, working with both internal and customer teams.
• Ability to obtain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) for airport access.
• Electrical or mechanical qualification is desirable but not mandatory.
