Contract Administrator - Commercial Retail Developments

About the role

A builder delivering high-spec projects across Australia is looking for an experienced, proactive Contract Administrator to join its team at the inner north Brisbane office. The role covers the commercial side of projects worth $30m+, managing subcontracts and head contract requirements so that projects stay commercially certain and cash positive throughout the build.

Key responsibilities

• Manage all commercial elements from procurement through to final completion.
• Compile, tender and award trade packages according to the procurement schedule.
• Administer subcontractor accounts, including monthly progress claims, variations and deeds of release.
• Maintain trade compliance, scopes of work and formal contract execution.
• Negotiate head contract variations and scopes with project stakeholders and estimate pricing for changes.
• Issue formal notices on potential variations and delays.
• Oversee progress claims through to payment processing and reconcile them against supplier and subcontractor invoices.
• Support financial account management, cost-to-complete reporting and forecasting models, and monitor preliminary costs and variation impacts.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Contract Administrator in commercial, industrial or multi-residential building.
• Strong commercial acumen and relationship-building with site teams, consultants and subcontractors.
• Desired degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Full Australian working rights and a valid driver's licence.
