Consultant Psychiatrist (Telehealth, Camberwell)

About the role

Yarra Clinic, a specialist psychiatry and clinical psychology practice in Camberwell, Melbourne, is looking for an experienced consultant psychiatrist. The service is assessment-focused: patients referred by their GP receive a detailed report and treatment plan, and the work prioritises quality over volume. Appointments are mainly by telehealth, with the option to see patients in person at the Camberwell clinic.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough psychiatry assessments, typically 60 minutes, covering general mental health, ADHD and autism
• Produce a comprehensive report with clear treatment recommendations for the referring GP after each assessment
• Offer review appointments for patients who need follow-up; the model centres on standalone assessments so GPs can manage ongoing care themselves

Required profile

• Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP)
• Current AHPRA registration as a specialist psychiatrist
• Experience conducting comprehensive psychiatry assessments across general mental health, ADHD and/or autism
• Comfort producing detailed, GP-facing reports with clear treatment recommendations
• A preference for thorough, considered clinical work over high-volume practice
