Consultant Anaesthetist - Regional NSW

About the role

JPS Medical is recruiting, on behalf of a major regional referral hospital in New South Wales, a Consultant Anaesthetist for a full-time position within a well-supported perioperative service. The role suits specialists who want a substantial regional practice with high clinical volume, strong multidisciplinary collaboration and the chance to influence service delivery and support junior medical staff.

The hospital serves a large and growing catchment, with a busy maternity and women's health interface, strong emergency department integration and a broad mix of elective and acute surgical services. The location offers regional practice with good transport links and family-friendly surroundings.

Key responsibilities

• Provide anaesthetic care across elective and emergency surgery, obstetric anaesthesia and perioperative assessment
• Take part in on-call and theatre services
• Contribute to teaching, supervision and service development
• Support junior medical staff and help shape service delivery

Required profile

• Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent specialist anaesthetic qualification
• Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligibility for Specialist Registration
• International Medical Graduates assessed as partially or substantially comparable by ANZCA are encouraged to apply
