Construction Supervisor

About the role

Merchant CG is seeking a full‑time Construction Supervisor to lead on‑site activities across the Greater Melbourne area. You will be the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage trades and subcontractors on a daily basis.
• Monitor progress against project schedules and report status, risks, and issues.
• Enforce safety procedures, conduct site inspections, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Supervise site personnel, provide clear instructions, and maintain documentation.
• Collaborate with project managers, suppliers, and consultants to resolve on‑site challenges.
• Maintain timelines and budget by proactively addressing obstacles.

Required profile

• Proven site supervision or leading‑hand experience in commercial construction.
• Strong communication skills for interaction with stakeholders, trades, and suppliers.
• Solid knowledge of construction safety standards and inspection processes.
• Understanding of building codes, standards, and construction methodologies.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities.
• Relevant trade qualification or certification in building and construction.
