Construction Manager - Residential Building

About the role

ABN Group, a builder, property and home finance group active for over 45 years across Western Australia and Victoria, is looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join its Residential Building team in Western Australia. Reporting to the Building Manager, you will lead a team of Site Managers and take responsibility for construction performance across your region, balancing people leadership with operational and commercial results. The role considers relocation from the Eastern States to Perth, WA.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of Site Managers to achieve operational and performance targets
• Drive onsite productivity and build programs, minimising downtime
• Provide visible safety leadership and ensure safety requirements and critical risk controls are applied
• Monitor quality and compliance across sites and resolve issues
• Manage Site Manager workloads, performance, development and capability
• Review construction performance, forecasts, costs and opportunities for improvement
• Work with subcontractors and suppliers to support trade availability and performance
• Oversee the handover process so homes meet ABN's quality standards
• Review customer feedback and support Site Managers in resolving escalations
• Partner with Safety, Operations, Finance, Customer Experience and other teams

Required profile

• 5 years' experience in a Construction Manager or Area Manager role
• Strong experience in residential construction and demonstrated experience leading construction teams
• Ability to interpret building plans, specifications and inspection reports
• Relevant trade qualification and/or experience working closely with trades in residential construction highly regarded
