Construction Assistant - Team Leader (Landscape Gardening)

About the role

A well-established, leading company in the landscape gardening industry is looking to add a Construction Assistant to its team through Pearl Recruitment Group. The role can be seen as a Team Leader position and is described as a direct pathway into a supervisory role in the future. It covers projects across the Perth metro area, with a company vehicle provided.

Key responsibilities

• Work closely with Construction Supervisors on hard and softscape applications and irrigation.
• Establish and maintain the site (amenities, fencing, access, traffic management), perform daily setup tasks, coordinate deliveries and operate plant and equipment as required.
• Coordinate subcontractors and on-site staff, complete daily site diaries and quality documentation, attend meetings and training and take part in company communication processes.
• Implement and maintain safety systems, documentation and reporting (pre-starts, inductions, permits, SWMS, inspections, incident reporting).
• Perform other general construction trade assistant and gardening duties, working independently when supervisors are off site.

Required profile

• Previous experience in the construction, civil, landscape and/or gardening industry.
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manual driver's licence and construction white card.
• Full Australian working rights and availability for a long-term, full-time role.
