Compliance Specialist

About the role

Ausgrid is looking for a practical and highly organised Compliance Specialist to join its Group CFO function on a 12-month fixed-term basis. The role supports compliance and risk activities for the Regulatory project and helps coordinate governance and process improvement initiatives. It is based at the Haymarket office in Sydney and reports to the Senior Manager, Governance.

Key responsibilities

• Support compliance and risk activities for the Regulatory project
• Coordinate actions and ensure compliance requirements and agreed processes are followed
• Support work to review and simplify delegations
• Coordinate data mapping, records and associated compliance activities
• Track actions, risks and audit-related activities and maintain accurate records
• Prepare reports showing progress, issues and outstanding actions
• Work with stakeholders to identify gaps and improve processes, procedures and ways of working
• Follow up, ask questions and respectfully challenge where requirements or processes are not met

Required profile

• Experience in compliance, governance, risk, audit, regulatory or a related environment
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering or a relevant discipline is advantageous
• Experience managing audit interactions, analysing risk and process improvement experience are advantageous
• Experience in reporting, action tracking and applying governance or compliance frameworks
