Compliance Officer

About the role

Rethink Group, one of Australia’s leading property investment groups, is looking for a commercially‑minded Compliance & Governance Officer. You will work across multiple regulated businesses to manage risk, strengthen controls, and keep AUSTRAC, ASIC, AFSL and state‑based licensing obligations on track.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate day‑to‑day AML/CTF and KYC processes using a dedicated compliance platform.
• Lead client onboarding, due diligence and record‑keeping to ensure compliance from day one.
• Conduct compliance reviews across business units, translate findings into actions and close control gaps.
• Provide practical compliance advice on new initiatives, services and evolving business activities.
• Drive compliance projects from implementation through continuous improvement.
• Maintain oversight of regulatory obligations for AUSTRAC, ASIC, AFSL and state‑based real‑estate licensing.
• Help implement and strengthen operational, risk and compliance frameworks, policies and controls.
• Prepare clear management reporting on compliance performance, emerging risks and control gaps.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years experience in a compliance, risk or regulatory role.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to translate regulation into practical guidance.
• Curiosity about using AI tools to improve compliance monitoring, reporting and reviews.
• Solution‑focused approach to problem‑solving and decision‑making.
• Tertiary qualification in commerce, finance, law or related discipline is advantageous but not essential.
