Company Accountant – Construction Industry

About the role

The Company Accountant will join a growing construction organisation, reporting directly to the CFO and senior directors. This hands‑on finance position offers ownership of the full finance function while collaborating closely with project teams and operational stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present financial statements and month‑end close processes.
• Develop budgets, cash‑flow forecasts and monitor statutory compliance.
• Coordinate audits and ensure strong financial governance.
• Support project financial outcomes, including WIP reporting, cost reviews, progress claims, variations, retentions and cost‑to‑complete analysis.
• Oversee an Accounts Payable team member and work with Contracts Administration to meet project requirements.

Required profile

• Experience as a Company Accountant, Senior Accountant or similar role.
• Background in construction, property, engineering, infrastructure or other project‑based environments.
• Strong commercial understanding and ability to engage with non‑finance stakeholders.
