Community Volunteer Visitor – One-on-One Companion

About the role

HammondCare is looking for a warm and friendly volunteer to spend time with a lady living in the Edmondson Park community. This is a one-on-one companionship role offering gentle conversation, shared hobbies and meaningful connection during weekday visits. The volunteer's presence brings joy, comfort and a sense of friendship.

Key responsibilities

• Visit the resident on weekdays, sharing her love of music and crafts and enjoying her doll collection together.
• Offer companionship through simple craft activities, listening to favourite songs and friendly chat.
• Visit weekly or fortnightly, depending on availability, for about one hour between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.

Required profile

• Available on weekdays; visits can be weekly or fortnightly depending on availability.
• 18 years or older.
• A national volunteer police check arranged and paid for by HammondCare.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme, which connects elderly people with volunteers in their local community. Interested applicants are contacted by phone or text, and then by email if needed.
