Community Social Volunteer – Gardens, Music & Conversation

About the role

An elderly resident of an aged care community in Rathmines is looking for a friendly volunteer to share a cup of tea and a chat. The resident loves gardens, music and good conversation, and values the companionship of someone who enjoys sharing stories and building a genuine connection. No special skills are required, just a warm, caring nature and a willingness to spend time together.

Key responsibilities

• Visit the resident once a week or every two weeks, for about an hour, between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Sunday.
• Share a cup of tea and have a meaningful conversation, bringing music and gardening topics into the visit.

Required profile

• 18 years or older.
• National Volunteer Police Check arranged.
• Reference check.
• Volunteer training provided.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme, funded by the Australian Government, which connects elderly people with volunteers in their local community.
