Community Engagement Coordinator

About the role

The Community Engagement Coordinator supports the Council’s strategic approach to community engagement by planning, developing and delivering engagement activities across a wide range of projects and services. Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders, the role ensures best‑practice engagement is embedded throughout project lifecycles.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement community engagement programmes for diverse Council projects.
• Provide expert advice to internal teams to embed engagement best practices.
• Manage the full engagement process from planning through delivery, analysis and reporting.
• Leverage Council’s digital platforms to communicate with and involve the community.
• Build strong relationships, influence outcomes and enhance the overall customer experience.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, business or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience delivering community engagement programmes.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor messages for varied audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, interpreting feedback and data.
• Collaborative approach with a track record of building effective working relationships.
