Communications Officer

About the role

The Communications Officer will support the Public Transport Authority’s youth and community safety communication programmes, helping to promote safer behaviours across the network. Working closely with internal and external partners, you will design, deliver and evaluate initiatives that address safety issues in schools, community groups and other settings.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and implement communication campaigns focused on youth and community safety.
• Develop resources, materials and messaging that align with the Authority’s safety objectives.
• Manage suppliers, budgets and timelines to ensure programmes are delivered effectively.
• Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organisations and government agencies.
• Represent the PTA in forums and stakeholder meetings.
• Lead evaluation activities, measure programme impact and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering and evaluating youth‑or community‑focused communication programmes.
• Strong stakeholder engagement ability and partnership building skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Analytical and organisational aptitude with the capacity to manage competing priorities.
