Communications Advisor

About the role

We are looking for a proactive, collaborative, and creative Communications Advisor to join the Student Experience team at RMIT University. In this full‑time, hybrid role you will help shape and deliver strategic communications that engage students, educators and staff, and reinforce the university’s story.

Key responsibilities

• Support the planning, creation and delivery of communication campaigns, content and stories that enhance the student experience.
• Produce engaging material for internal and external channels, including websites, email newsletters and social media.
• Profile staff and students, crafting narratives that inform, inspire and connect diverse audiences.
• Collaborate with the University Communications team and a wide range of stakeholders across the institution.
• Collect, analyse and interpret data to drive continuous improvement of communications.

Required profile

• Experience in a customer, consumer or membership‑focused communications function.
• Proven ability to plan, produce and deliver communications activities and content.
• Strong professional writing and editing skills for varied audiences and channels.
• Experience working with multiple communications platforms such as website, email management tools and social media.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage several projects in a fast‑paced environment.
• Degree in Communications, PR, Journalism or a related field, plus relevant professional experience.
• Successful Working with Children and National Police checks.
