Commercial Specialist – Defence Procurement and Contracts

About the role

KBR is looking for a Commercial Specialist to join its Commercial Licensing and Agreements team. The role supports Defence acquisition programmes through procurement, commercial governance and contract management, and can be based in Canberra or Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver procurement activities and prepare tender documentation for Defence contracts.
• Develop commercial strategies, procurement methods and contract management plans.
• Assist with contract changes, monitor contractor performance and manage commercial risks.
• Provide commercial and finance advice to stakeholders and ensure compliance with departmental procurement policies.

Required profile

• Experience in Defence commercial and procurement activities.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
• Australian citizenship and current NV1 Defence Security Clearance (or higher).
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities and meet demanding milestones.

Required skills

• Understanding of contracts, deeds, indemnities, obligations and variation clauses.
• Experience coordinating governance activities such as agendas, minutes and documentation control.
