Commercial Finance Business Partner

About the role

We are partnering with a leading global insurer to hire a Commercial Finance Business Partner who will support business performance across Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to the Head of Commercial Finance, you will act as a trusted advisor and second‑in‑command within the team, working closely with senior stakeholders during a period of transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior business leaders to provide commercial insights and strategic financial support.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and planning activities across designated business areas.
• Develop financial models and business cases to support key commercial decisions and investment opportunities.
• Analyse business performance, identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
• Deliver management reporting and variance analysis to support executive decision‑making.
• Support process improvement initiatives and enhance reporting capability.
• Collaborate with finance and broader organisation stakeholders.
• Provide guidance and coaching to junior members of the business partnering team.

Required profile

• Experience in a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance or FP&A role.
• Strong financial modelling, budgeting and forecasting capability.
• Proven ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
• Prior insurance industry experience or strong understanding of insurance business drivers.
• Advanced analytical skills with high attention to detail.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and a continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a changing environment and contribute positively during transformation.
