CNC Machinist

About the role

InfraBuild, a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and World Steel Association Sustainability Champion, is hiring a CNC Machinist at its Mayfield site. Reporting to the Workshop supervisor, the role sits within the InfraBuild business and offers a mix of high-volume and jobbing work. It suits someone who values safety and customers and wants to build a career in machining.

Key responsibilities

• Execute CNC machining, including programming and operating multi-axis lathes and machining centres
• Develop skills in machining special steels
• Identify opportunities for improvement and give feedback through the maintenance management system
• Stay up to date with safety management

Required profile

• Cert III in Mechanical Engineering (essential)
• Ability to read and understand G-code
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Experience with Fanuc, Siemens or Fagor controls is highly desirable
• Using or working towards proficiency in CADCAM systems is highly desirable

What we offer

• Pay of $44.21 to $50.48 per hour plus super, a $21.45 per week tool allowance and overtime
• Day shift: 9-day fortnight, 6am-3pm or 7am-4pm, with one shorter day; shift work: 6am-2:30pm day and 2:30-11pm afternoon, with a 10% shift allowance
