CNC Burkhardt Operator - Stone Cutting

About the role

A family-run, market-leading stonemasonry business in Truganina, Melbourne, is looking for a CNC Burkhardt operator. You will run the Burkhardt machine, which combines a dual saw and waterjet, cutting premium natural stone for residential and commercial projects across Victoria. Plenty of overtime is available, and an afternoon shift is offered.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate the Burkhardt dual saw / waterjet
• Switch between saw and waterjet cutting as each job needs
• Plan cuts and nest layouts to get the most out of every slab
• Work from drawings and cutting lists
• Select tooling and set parameters for each material
• Quality-check cut pieces before they move to fabrication
• Carry out routine machine maintenance
• Follow silica-safety and OH&S procedures

Required profile

• CNC experience in stone, on saw, waterjet or both
• Burkhardt experience ideal; Intermac, GMM, Donatoni similar machines welcome
• Confident reading drawings and cutting lists
• Accurate cutting with a strong eye for detail
• Willingness to work long hours or an afternoon shift
• Reliable and safety-conscious
