Cloud Systems Administrator

About the role

SAS is hiring a Cloud Systems Administrator for its Managed Application Services (MAS) team in the Cloud and Information Services division. You will own all aspects of hosted and remote-managed SAS application environments, working with customers, analysts, developers and implementation teams to manage, diagnose, debug, design and prototype SAS and third-party enterprise software systems. The role also works with global R&D, Product, Technical Support and CIS teams to drive customer satisfaction and service quality.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, maintain and support SAS software and customer environments.
• Deploy, configure and operate SAS platforms and supporting technologies.
• Execute upgrades, migrations, platform lifecycle activities, changes, service requests and operational activities according to established processes.
• Monitor platform health, performance and availability to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, application issues and platform problems.
• Develop automation, operational tooling and reusable processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks and knowledge articles.
• Work directly with customers and collaborate with engineering, support and infrastructure teams.

Required profile

• 2+ years of technical experience in enterprise software administration, platform operations or technical support.
• Experience in at least two of: enterprise platform administration and support, Linux or UNIX systems administration, customer-facing technical support, consulting or professional services, software deployment/upgrades/migrations, and troubleshooting application, platform or infrastructure issues.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, preferably Computer Science, Information Technology or related.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
• For some customer engagements, background checks, security vetting or clearances may be required.

Required skills

• Linux/UNIX administration and scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python or similar).
• Preferred: SAS software installation, configuration and administration, and experience with SAS 9.4, SAS Viya 3.x or SAS Viya platforms.
• Preferred: cloud platforms, container technologies or Kubernetes, and automation with Python, Ansible or similar.
• Familiarity with IT service management (incident, request and change management).
• Networking, distributed systems and cloud computing concepts.
