Cloud Solutions Architect (Azure, NV1 Clearance)

About the role

A senior Cloud Solutions Architect is sought in Canberra to lead the design, governance and delivery of secure, scalable cloud solutions for large-scale cloud and digital transformation initiatives in the Federal Government sector. The role focuses on Microsoft Azure and works across a broad portfolio of projects, with a strong emphasis on enterprise-scale cloud transformation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead cloud solution architectures from requirements through to implementation
• Work with business and technical stakeholders and governance bodies to define requirements, constraints and outcomes
• Produce architecture artefacts such as solution designs, patterns, standards and implementation guidance
• Design secure, resilient and scalable cloud solutions aligned with enterprise, security, data, integration and operational requirements
• Present architecture proposals at governance forums and address review outcomes
• Provide architectural oversight and technical leadership during delivery
• Identify risks, dependencies and technical debt and recommend practical solutions
• Contribute to cloud architecture standards, frameworks and technology roadmaps

Required profile

• Extensive experience architecting and delivering major cloud or digital transformation programs
• Experience translating business requirements into practical, scalable solutions
• Ability to engage executive stakeholders and obtain approval through formal governance processes
• Experience leading complex technology implementations and working autonomously
• Experience in Australian Government or Commonwealth environments
• Understanding of government governance, security, assurance and procurement frameworks
• Current NV1 security clearance or a clearance eligible for reinstatement

Required skills

• Strong Microsoft Azure architecture and delivery experience
• Experience designing cloud platforms supporting enterprise data, integration, analytics, AI or machine learning
