Clinical Trials Pharmacist – Grade 2

About the role

The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking a Clinical Trials Pharmacist (Grade 2) to join its expanding clinical trials portfolio. You will deliver advanced pharmacy services for investigational medicines, ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice, TGA regulations and hospital standards.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical trials pharmacy services in line with GCP, TGA, AdPha standards and hospital policies.
• Manage investigational medicines throughout their lifecycle – ordering, receipt, storage, preparation, dispensing, accountability, destruction and sterile manufacturing when required.
• Support trial participants with safe and effective use of investigational products according to protocol.
• Maintain accurate drug accountability records and trial documentation.
• Coordinate trial pharmacy activities including start‑up, protocol review, amendments, close‑out and electronic medication management.
• Liaise with investigators, sponsors and multidisciplinary teams; attend site initiation, monitoring visits, audits and inspections.
• Contribute to education, supervision, research, quality improvement, service development and policy creation.
• Participate in the on‑call roster and support operational and financial processes.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with AHPRA.
• Minimum 2 years of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Knowledge of hospital pharmacy practice, AdPha standards and Good Manufacturing Practice.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and supervision skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure and participate in a roster.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and professional development.
