Clinical Trials Finance Assistant

About the role

Chris O'Brien Lifehouse, a not-for-profit cancer hospital in Camperdown, NSW, is looking for a Clinical Trials Finance Assistant. This is an entry-level administration support role within the Clinical Trials Finance function, focused on accurate data entry, invoice and documentation support, routine debtor follow-up assistance and preparing information for review by senior finance team members.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare aged debtor review lists, reminders and escalations for overdue invoices needing Finance Officer/Manager review.
• Maintain invoicing schedules and support end-to-end clinical trials invoicing with accurate documentation, checks and on-time issuance.
• Update approved accrual and revenue trackers and provide routine inputs for monthly finance and board reporting.
• Collect information from approved sources, enter details into templates and support alignment to Clinical Trials Unit contracts.
• Identify discrepancies, raise invoicing and data issues to the right finance contacts, keep audit-ready records and support internal and sponsor audit responses.

Required profile

• Relevant degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or equivalent.
• At least 12 months of experience in finance administration, accounts support or billing administration (or equivalent capability gained through work or study).
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, good written and verbal communication, and strong time management and organisation.
• Desirable: experience in Clinical Trials and/or healthcare finance, knowledge of invoicing, accrual concepts and billing schedules, familiarity with contract terminology, and Tech-1 experience.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel, including sorting and filtering, basic formulas and data checking.
