Clinical Team Lead Pharmacist – Hospital (Full‑time)

About the role

The Clinical Team Lead Pharmacist will head the delivery of clinical pharmacy services within the Northern Beaches Hospital. Reporting to the Deputy Director of Pharmacy, this 12‑month fixed‑term position provides an opportunity to lead a multidisciplinary team, support quality use of medicines, and contribute to continuous improvement in patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate clinical pharmacy services across Critical Care or Medical streams.
• Provide advanced clinical input to optimise patient outcomes and support workload prioritisation.
• Supervise, mentor and train pharmacists, interns and technicians.
• Manage medication‑related operational issues such as shortages, recalls and supply challenges.
• Contribute to rostering, workforce planning and service delivery.
• Support Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) activities and governance initiatives.
• Participate in specialty‑specific committees and working groups.
• Oversee the smart drug pump library and rollout of the Single Patient Digital Record (SDPR) in Critical Care.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with current NSW Health registration.
• Significant experience in hospital pharmacy, preferably in Critical Care or Medical specialties.
• Demonstrated leadership and team‑development capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to high standards of patient safety and medication management.
