Clinical Support Nurse - Emergency Department

About the role

Mercy Health is looking for an experienced Emergency Nurse to join the MHVL Learning Team at Werribee Mercy Hospital in a fixed-term part-time position (0.6 FTE, 7 days a week including AM and PM shifts) as part of the Emergency Department expansion. The role is based in the Emergency Department / Short Stay Unit and focuses on education and professional development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate learning activities in the Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit for staff and learners.
• Provide educational leadership and guidance to help staff and learners develop knowledge and skills.
• Work with the Learning Team and the Emergency Department / Short Stay Unit to ensure continuing professional development supports clinical excellence.
• Identify and prioritise the professional development needs of nursing staff and learners.

Required profile

• APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing.
• Current clinical experience in Paediatric Nursing.
• Resilient, compassionate and committed to patient-centred care.
• Willingness to obtain a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check, and proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations consistent with public health orders.

Required skills

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
• Recent education experience (desirable)
• Excellent clinical, time management, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve
• A compassionate, flexible and positive approach to patient care and management
• Ability to build respectful, collaborative relationships
