Clinical Pharmacist – Rotational (Grade 2)

About the role

Western Health is seeking experienced pharmacists to join its Clinical Pharmacy team on a rotational basis (Grade 2). This full‑time, ongoing position offers the chance to develop both clinical and operational expertise across multiple hospital sites in Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise patient outcomes by applying Quality Use of Medicines (QUM) principles.
• Ensure the right medication, dose, and timing for each patient and support prescribers in maximising therapeutic benefits.
• Assist Pharmacy Team Leads with supervision, orientation and mentoring of rotational pharmacy staff.
• Support quality‑assurance, evaluation and operational activities within the department.

Required profile

• Broad expert knowledge in clinical and operational pharmacy areas.
• Ability to act as a reference point for a specialised pharmacy domain.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for delivering quality‑assurance activities.
• Proficiency in information‑technology tools and interest in innovative pharmacy services.
• Experience supervising early‑career pharmacists, interns and students.
• Capability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple sites.
