Clinical Nurse Educator

About the role

Mercy Health is looking for an experienced Nurse Educator to join its Learning Team at Werribee Mercy Hospital as part of the Emergency Department expansion. This is a permanent, part-time position working across seven days a week (AM and PM) in the Emergency Department/Short Stay Unit. The educator develops, implements, facilitates and evaluates learning activities for staff and learners, and provides educational leadership and guidance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement, facilitate and evaluate learning activities in the Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit for staff and learners.
• Provide educational leadership and guidance to help staff develop knowledge and skills.
• Work with the Learning Team and the Emergency Department/Short Stay Unit so continuing professional development supports clinical excellence.
• Identify and prioritise the professional development needs of nursing staff and learners.

Required profile

• APHRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
• Postgraduate qualification in Emergency Nursing.
• Current clinical experience in paediatric nursing.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
• Recent education experience.
• Resilient, compassionate and committed to patient-centred care.
• Willingness to provide a current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check, and proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccinations consistent with public health orders.
