Clinical Lead – Acute Medicine (Fixed‑Term)

About the role

The Department of Health is seeking an experienced Clinical Lead for Acute Medicine at the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie. This fixed‑term, full‑time position involves strategic leadership, service integration, and direct patient care in a diverse acute medicine environment.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Clinical Director – Acute Medicine to provide strategic direction and leadership.
• Ensure efficient utilisation of resources and alignment with hospital policies, service standards, and financial targets.
• Lead the Department of Acute Medicine, overseeing acute and sub‑acute general medicine and multiple specialty services.
• Maintain accreditation standards for basic and advanced physician training.
• Deliver specialist general medicine care to patients attending the hospital.

Required profile

• Motivated and experienced clinician with a background in acute and general medicine.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage service delivery.
• Experience working within public health or hospital settings is preferred.
