Claims Consultant

About the role

TAL, a life insurer backed by Daiichi Life, is hiring a Claims Consultant within its Group space across AusSuper. You will manage life insurance claims from start to finish, giving customers a seamless experience. The role focuses on delivering a high-quality customer and client experience, including regular updates on claim status and managing expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of TPD and IP claims independently, end to end
• Assess, analyse, calculate and finalise claims payments
• Engage external treating doctors, rehabilitation consultants and in-house medical and legal specialists, delivering timely outcomes
• Deliver exceptional customer service in line with policy and claims procedures
• Take part in case conferences and peer case discussions, and instruct third-party service providers

Required profile

• Life insurance claims management experience in Group policy, with IP and/or TPD claims experience ideally
• Alternatively, workers compensation or return to work claims management experience with an allied health background
• Solid understanding of injuries, illnesses and treatment

Required skills

• Strong analytical, problem-solving and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and empathy to support customers during difficult times
