Civil Projects Project Manager

About the role

Whitehaven Coal, an ASX-listed Australian coal producer operating mines in NSW, Daunia and Blackwater in the Bowen Basin, is seeking an experienced Project Manager - Civil Projects to join its Project Team at Blackwater Mine. Reporting to the Project Lead, the role manages end-to-end delivery of civil infrastructure and capital works projects supporting mining operations, such as haul roads, drainage, tailings and dam works, site facilities, earthworks, workshops and hardstands. Key responsibilities

• Lead the planning, development and execution of civil infrastructure and capital works projects.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, procurement strategies and execution plans.
• Manage project risks, opportunities and stakeholder expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Oversee construction activities to required technical and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, statutory and governance requirements.
• Monitor performance, identify issues and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare progress reports, forecasts and updates for senior leadership and stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement and project delivery excellence.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience managing civil construction or infrastructure projects from concept to completion.
• Previous experience in a mining, resources or heavy industrial environment.
• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification; project management qualifications or industry certifications considered favourably.
• Current Queensland driver's licence.
• Right to work in Australia.
